Chrysler Hall / Scope

/ Concerts, musicals, sports events or even the
circus when it comes to town, play in the Scope complex
in downtown Norfolk. The complex houses an indoor
arena that seats up to 13,800, as well as the Chrysler
Hall Auditorium, a first rate facility for solo concerts,
theatrical, ballet and Virginia Symphony performances
as well as Broadway productions. The Hall seats 2,500.

The Hampton Coliseum

this indoor arena hosts shows, sporting events and
concerts. Check schedules when you arrive for programs
and events that may be of interest. $
The Hampton Jazz Festival

Each year in late June, Hampton gears up with a festival
of jazz, where musicians from around the globe gather
to celebrate their sound. It's a three day jazz love-fest,
with past festivals including such performers as
Gladys Knight, Nancy Wilson and the late, great (and
local native) Ella Fitzgerald.
Harrison Opera House

Virginia Opera, one of the top regional opera companies
in the country, the luxurious theater seats 1,650
patrons. The opera season runs from October through
April in the Opera House in Norfolk, on Virginia
Beach Blvd. and Llewellyn Ave. $
William & Mary Hall
/ Williamsburg / College of William & Mary / 757-221-3340
/ Located on the campus of the second oldest
college in America, William & Mary Hall hosts college
basketball and a wide array of concerts. Concert
seating for 11,500. $
The Wells Theatre /
Downtown Norfolk / 757-627-1234 / The Virginia
Stage Company is housed in this beautifully restored
National Historic Landmark. The company is the region's
premier professional theatre group, their season
running from September through April. $

Michelob Championship /
Kingsmill Golf Club / Williamsburg / 757-253-3906
/ For the final time in October 2002, the
PGA Tour will descend on Williamsburg to try their
luck on Kingsmills River Course. Virginia Beach
native and two-time PGA Tournament Champion, Curtis
Strange is the touring pro for this Williamsburg
golf resort and plays host to the prestigious tournament
along with an aquatic bit of support from his fan
club, the Strange Navy. $
Norfolk Tides Baseball Club

Rated as the New York Mets AAA farm team, the
Tide's season runs from early spring and throughout
the summer. Located on Norfolks waterside,
Harbor Park has been voted the best minor league
stadium in the entire U.S., seating up to 12,000
fans. $
Virginia Sports Hall of Fame
/ Olde Towne Portsmouth / 757-393-8031/ Honoring
those citizens of the State of Virginia who achieved
regional, national and/or international success in
the field of sports. Over 160 athletes, coaches and
sports writers have been inducted into this shrine
of greatness, including Arthur Ashe, Ace Parker,
Sam Snead and Cy Young.
Hampton Roads Admirals Hockey

/ The area's premier professional ice hockey
team begins its season every year in late September
or early October. The season extends into the spring
with home games played at Scope. $
